Autumn arrives at Finca Testeina with one of the most magical and incredible sunsets that can be experienced in Lanzarote: Imagine the sunset, between vineyards and volcanoes, with a glass of wine from Bodegas Vega de Yuco and admiring the surroundings of the Protected Landscape of La Geria and the Natural Park of Los Volcanes.
To enjoy this experience and spectacle of nature, Bodegas Vega de Yuco will organize –at Finca Testeina– Private visits and commented tastings in the afternoon. They will be carried out starting in October, Thursday or Friday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in this estate and stately home in Lanzarote that dates back to the 16th century.
What does the winery propose?
The wine tourism activity at sunset will last about 90 minutes, initially in Spanish, and will include a beautiful walk through the vineyard located at the foot of the Testeina Volcano, where the wine tourism technician and guide from Vega de Yuco will give learn about the particularities and history of vine cultivation in Lanzarote, its varieties and characteristics and you will discover how the art of turning the fruit of the vine into wine was worked in the 19th century.
This interpreted visit will fundamentally focus on the before and after of the Timanfaya volcanic eruptions (1730-1736), the resurgence of viticulture on the island, the historical and ethnographic values linked to the important water culture and the history that hides behind the walls of the Testeina farmhouse, whose first documented references appear in the 16th century by the historian and writer of the Canarian illustration Viera and Clavijo (1731-1813).
The experience culminates with a commented tasting of two wines of the best references from Bodegas Vega de Yuco with a special pairing of chocolates from the firm 'La Corona', a well-known bakery artisanal chocolate from the island of Lanzarote.

The price of the activity is €25 (adults), with the option to reserve a place on the established days or also purchase an undated gift voucher to redeem in the coming months.

With this afternoon activity, Bodegas Vega de Yuco intends to gradually expand its hours and days of visits and tastings at Finca Testeina in order to meet the demand of the public interested in its wines and wine tourism experiences.
Likewise, in the coming weeks, it also plans to extend the days of celebration of the vineyard tour and eco tastings which to date has been carried out in the morning, on Tuesdays in English and on Thursdays in Spanish. Soon, this private activity will also be able to be booked every day (except holidays), in different languages and times.
