The Malvasía Volcánica 'Esencia Yaiza' from Bodegas Vega de Yuco revalidates the medal at the international wine meeting in Spain, in which more than 1,900 references of wines from 18 different countries have participated
Bodegas Vega de Yuco is once again in congratulations with a new gold medal that adds to the record of its iconic wine essence Yaiza. The International Wine Competition'Bacchus 2024’, organized from April 15 to 19 in Madrid by the Spanish Union of Tasters (UEC), has awarded Gold on this occasion to Malvasía Volcánica, dry white Yaiza, from the 2023 vintage.
In this international competition they participated 1.900 references from wineries from 19 countries in the wine regions Most important in the world. More than one hundred professional tasters, including the most influential opinion leaders, from 28 countries (Moldova, Spain, Peru, USA, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Argentina, France, Tunisia, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Slovakia, Switzerland, Germany, Georgia, Italy, UK, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Chile, Latvia, Mexico, Turkey, Uruguay, China...), winemakers, Masters of Wine and Masters of Sommelier, among others, formed this occasion the team of judges who awarded these medals.
From Bodegas Vega de Yuco they receive with “Very excited about this new recognition for Malvasía Volcánica from the Esencia Yaiza line. A medal that we share, one more year, with all the winegrowers and the Vega de Yuco team that make it possible”. The management also conveys its congratulations “to the rest of the Canarian wineries and the Lanzarote Designation of Origin awarded in this edition of the Bacchus 2024”.

Coming from the best vineyards and plots on the island, Bodegas Vega de Yuco hand selects the Malvasía Volcánica that goes into this white wine. Subsequently, the grapes ferment in tanks using cold maceration techniques, producing a highly expressive wine that is characterized by its freshness and aromatic personality.
Color
Pale yellow, with clean tones that denote its freshness and youth.
Nose
From the first moment it surprises with hints of mango, guava and lychee, all of them aromas typical of Malvasía Volcánica. Little by little it evolves towards white-fleshed fruits, with notes of citrus and orange blossom. A complex and perfumed wine, with high aromatic intensity.
Mouth
The entry into the mouth is smooth, showing its freshness and liveliness. A balanced wine that invites you to enjoy it again on the palate.
