Pairing of Lanzarote products: Smoked Pescasol, Lala Jams and wines from Bodegas Vega de Yuco.

Pairing tasting and group visit that took place on Wednesday, June 2, at Finca Testeina as a complementary activity for the members of the Jury of the official Agrocanarias Cheese Contest.
Three products from the island with character and essence to Lanzarote, harmonized yesterday, in perfect synchrony and pairing, the original and different enogastronomic experience destined for the members of the “Official Agrocanarias Cheese Contest 2021”, Which was held from June 2 to 3 on the island of Volcanoes.
Lanzarote Lala artisan jams, smoked fish from Lanzarote's signature Pescasol and wines from Bodegas Vega de Yuco collaborated to make possible this pairing held at Finca Testeina (Masdache - La Geria), as a complementary activity to the contest organized by the Canarian Institute of Agrifood Quality (ICCA), attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The pairing proposal and tastings carried out surprised the attendees who were able to taste a smoked swordfish and fig jam, paired with semi-sweet white wine with a slight bubble + Roof from Vega de Yuco. They continued with the rosé of the same line and a smoked salmon with orange marmalade.
The dry whites Volcanic Malvasia from Lanzarote, put the finishing touch to this pairing with a smoked cod and Indian fig jam, which combined in perfect balance with the dry Vega de Yuco. The tasting ended with a smoked tuna with pumpkin jam and the dry white from the Esencia Yaiza line. Both volcanic Malvasia have been distinguished with several medals at the prestigious Bacchus and Decanter 2020 international wine awards.
Rafael Espino, owner and manager of Bodegas Vega de Yuco-Finca Testeina, was in charge of offering them the enogastronomic experience, after a guided tour of the vineyards and the premises of the house, which dates back to the 16th century and has recently been restored. with the architectural values of the island of Lanzarote.
