Of this first bottled wine from the Canary Islands, Bodegas Vega de Yuco expects to have an estimated production of about 15,500 bottles of Esencia Yaiza (dry white). It will be marketed -fundamentally- in the eight Canary Islands and in the traditional markets of the European continent, through its distribution channels and electronic commerce. Esencia Yaiza, along with other wines from this winery and others from the Lanzarote Denomination of Origin, also has a presence - incipiently - in other target markets such as Japan and Iceland, where they have begun to internationalize their wines.
It should be remembered that this wine has also garnered several recognitions in 2020, such as the silver medal of the Bacchus awards and the bronze medal in the prestigious and international Decanter, the latest titles that have been added to its record since its birth in 2005.
Tasting Sheet - Esencia Yaiza 2021
The monovarietal Malvasía Volcánica Esencia Yaiza is a dry white that represents the most genuine expression of the artisan viticulture of Lanzarote. When arriving at the winery, Malvasía Volcánica, coming from different plots of the island, passes by the grape selection table where only the best bunches are selected by hand. Afterwards, the selected Malvasía Volcánica is fermented in steel tanks using cold maceration techniques. It produces a highly expressive wine that is characterized by its freshness and great aromatic personality.
This wine is pale yellow in color, with clean tones that denote its freshness and youth. From the first moment it surprises with hints and fruity aromas characteristic of the Malvasía Volcánica de Lanzarote. Little by little it evolves towards an assembly of tropical and white pulp fruits with a finish of citrus and orange blossom notes. A complex and perfumed wine, with high aromatic intensity. The entry into the mouth is very smooth and light, showing its freshness and liveliness. A wine with balanced acidity that invites you to enjoy it again on the palate and that almost all the people who taste it like.
