– The winery awards a second prize and second prize to Carla Romero Tafalla from the Voxel School of design and congratulates all the participants for the extraordinary quality of the works presented.
Bodegas Vega de Yuco already has the brand image for 'Althos', the first wine production distillate made in the winery.
The jury decided the first prize of the contest in favor of the proposal presented by the graphic designer Vanessa Garcia Lopez. For the design of the brand, label and back label of the distillate, the winner of the contest has received a prize of 1,200 euros. It should be remembered that the contest was called last April for the design and identity of this new exclusive and collectible product that Bodegas Vega de Yuco will soon launch on the market.
The jury, made up of the communication, marketing, production, commercial and oenological laboratory team that he directs Rafael J. Espino Curbelo, together with the advisory team of the master rum maker, expert in distillates and Brand Ambassador, dangerous perez, valued the near 70 validated proposals who participated in this contest. Of the 15 pre-selected labels in the first phase, 8 labels went on to the next selection, resulting in 3 finalists, including the winning proposal that received a higher score than the rest.
Vanessa Garcia He explained that for the creation of the image of Althos he took into account the Canarian identity and the traditional character of this type of spirits.
“It is a design that evokes the local, the uniqueness of the Lanzarote landscape and the inspirational mythology of the islands. The combination of fonts is very careful and provides that character and personality to the product. A masculine, serious, intelligent and respectful character. We communicate with simplicity and elegance, providing added value to the distillate and achieving differentiation. We achieve that perception of a jewel product through the finishes of the label and we succeed in making the consumer see it as an object of desire, highlighting its limited and numbered production, full of stamps and signatures that reflect rigor and authenticity.”.
The label states, "It has a unique shape, inspired by the legend of Althos, and in that rescue of the sun from inside the volcano. The liquid is part of the design and has a leading role in the packaging proposal”.
