faynanew
Princesa Fayna, aboriginal queen of Lanzarote, is Vega de Yuco's new commitment to preserve and value the island's oldest wine legacy. A minority crop that is represented, mainly in Lanzarote, by the Diego grape variety. The vine used to extend to the south of the Iberian Peninsula and practically disappeared after the attacks of the phylloxera plague at the end of the 19th century, which affected practically all European vineyards. The Diego, like other varieties on the island, is pre-phylloxera and survives in Lanzarote thanks to the ingenuity and effort of the men and women of this land who knew how to preserve this natural wine heritage, unique in the world and of extraordinary value.
The grape used to make this Brut Nature sparkling wine comes from the natural area around the Juan Bello mountain, specifically from plots located in a cold area of the island.
